From mid-April to mid-June 2026, Maximilien Berthet, Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo and an expert in the field of aerobreaking, undertook a two-month research visit to Dr. Constantin Traub’s research group at the Institute of Space Systems under the professorship of Prof. Fasoulas, and in association with his Project A06: Aerodynamic Orbit Control in VLEO: Planning and Optimisation.
Together, the researchers worked on control strategies based on aerodynamic drag for satellite formation flight in eccentric orbits, a topic that combines the interests and expertise of both researchers. Both professionally and personally, Prof. Berthet was a real asset to the research group, and the aim is to establish a long-term collaboration.
